Monrovia-December 3, 2025: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has commended the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) and its Director General, Eugene L. Fahngon, for what he described as remarkable progress in expanding national television coverage across Liberia.

President Boakai made the remarks during his opening statement at a special Cabinet retreat held yesterday December 2, 2025 in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

President Boakai highlighted LBS among several ministries and agencies that are contributing significantly to the implementation of his development agenda under the AREST Framework. He emphasized that the expansion of broadcast access is essential to national unity, information sharing, and strengthening government citizen engagement.

The Liberian Leader praised the ongoing efforts to ensure that citizens across all regions can access the national television service an initiative he said directly aligns with his vision for a more informed population. During his remarks, the President paused and asked, “Where is Eugene Fahngon is he here? We want to thank him for the exceptional job he’s doing taking television to our people.”

In recent months, the LBS has extended its television coverage to more counties, with Zwedru in Grand Gedeh County already benefiting from the expanded service, and Grand Bassa County becoming the latest addition to the network. These expansions mark significant steps toward nationwide coverage, a goal the administration has championed.
