Monrovia- CDC-CoP Calls on the Liberian Senate to Immediately Put Hold to the Confirmation Hearing of Mr. Elijah Rufus as Immigration Director until a Comprehensive Investigation into the Ritualistic killings of Keleko and Moisemai are Conducted
Fellow Liberians, as I am writing now, we have been alerted that the Liberian Senate has received $100,000 USD to conduct a quick service confirmation of this man that’s involved with two deaths something sources believed he did to secure this appointment. He was never scheduled for today but he’s currently about to be seated for confirmation. Stop it now, or the Senate will meet the resistance of patriotic Liberians very soon in a mass action. Since December 2024, no comprehensive investigation into the deaths of these two Liberians have been conducted. Ritualistic killings are against human rights and we urge the Senate to not confirm this man until he clears his name through a forensic process.
The CDC-CoP vehemently opposes the view that ritualistic killing should be used as a ladder to climb toward political appointments.
We want to state categorically that Mr. Elijah Rufus’s appointment as Commissioner General of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) is an ugly pregnancy that must be aborted. We stand with the victims’ families. Two people cannot die mysteriously with this man’s involvement while he sits comfortably in an air-conditioned office. No one is being held accountable for the killing of a woman whose body parts were missing, and the whistleblower was murdered in police custody.
We want to warn all members of the Liberian Senate: any attempt because you’ve received cash to conduct a rushed confirmation will result in your own political downfall. We will declare any senator who fails to listen an enemy of the people. We are watching.
We will address the nation very soon. Elijah Rufus is not government material. Get ready for our fire! We will expose all the evidence! The victim’s families are grieving. We’re coming!
