MONROVIA-OCTOBER 24, 2025: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has received a significant donation of solar street lights from ELSI Renewable Energy Power Solution, a Liberian-owned solar company, aimed at improving security and visibility at the Agency’s headquarters in Fiamah, Sinkor.
The donation which took place on Thursday was made as part of ELSI Renewable Energy’s corporate social responsibility initiative. The company presented four high-powered solar street lights to the LDEA headquarters to enhance nighttime operations and safety.
Speaking during the brief presentation ceremony, Mr. Lusine Kromah, a representative of ELSI Renewable Energy, made the donation on behalf of the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Adolphus Kayah. Mr. Kromah said the gesture reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting government and security institutions that play a crucial role in protecting Liberians, especially in the fight against substance abuse.
“This initiative is part of our corporate responsibility to help strengthen institutions that safeguard our communities,” Mr. Kromah noted. “We believe that clean energy can play a vital role in promoting safety and sustainable development across the country.”
Receiving the donation, Col. Ernest T. Tarpeh, Deputy Officer-in-Charge for Administration and Investigation at the LDEA, expressed deep appreciation to ELSI Renewable Energy for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention.
Col. Tarpeh explained that the installation of the solar lights would greatly improve the Agency’s security environment, particularly during night patrols and operations at its Fiamah headquarters.
“We are grateful for this generous contribution, which will undoubtedly enhance our operational effectiveness,” Col. Tarpeh stated. “The LDEA remains steadfast in its mission to combat drug trafficking and bring perpetrators of illicit drug activities to justice.”
The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency continues to play a pivotal role in the government’s efforts to reduce narcotic-related crimes and maintain a drug-free society.
