Monrovia-November 20, 2025: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has charged and forwarded two Guinean nationals to the Paynesville Magisterial Court for the alleged illegal possession of narcotics valued at more than LRD585,200.

The suspects, Amadu Diallo, 35, and Safiatu Diallo, 33, were arrested on November 13, 2025, at about 3:00 p.m. in the Red Light community. According to the LDEA, officers assigned to the Red Light Satellite Detail discovered 21 boxes and 8 strips of Tramadol in their possession during the operation.

The Possession of illegal substances under the Liberian law is a non- billable crime.

Authorities say the confiscated Tramadol carries an estimated street value of LRD585,200, further underscoring what the agency describes as the persistent threat of illicit drug circulation in communities across the country.

The LDEA stressed its ongoing commitment to combating drug trafficking and appealed to the public to remain vigilant. The agency encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity that may aid in curbing the spread of narcotics in Liberia.

The suspects are expected to face prosecution as the investigation continues.
