PAYNESVILLE CITY-OCTOBER 28, 2025: The management of the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) has condemned the attack on officers of the Paynesville City Police (PCP).
The city police officers were attacked while attempting to enforce regulations against street vending in a prohibited area in Jacob Town along the Japanese Freeway.

According to reports, during the operation, a violent confrontation ensued with vendors resisting eviction. The clash resulted in officer Junior Dahn being severely wounded with cutlass by an unidentified man. Officer Dahn is currently hospitalized at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia. The officer’s condition is reported to be stable but critical.

In the aftermath of the attack, five vendors have been arrested and subsequently handed over to the Liberia National Police (LNP). They are currently in custody at Zone 9 Base as investigations continue into the incident.

Meanwhile, the City Government of Paynesville has pledged to ensure the safety of law enforcement personnel while maintaining order in the area. PCC would also like to thank the authorities of the Liberian National Police for assisting in bringing calm and maintaining law and order in the area.
