Senate Confirms Five Lawyers

The Senate’s Standing Committee on Judiciary consistent with Article 69 of The Liberian Constitution has concluded the confirmation hearing for five Liberian legal practitioners to include: Counselors Ousman Feika, Roland Dahn, Onesimus Barkon And Attorney Patrick Williams.

Prior to the confirmation hearing, President George Weah appointed Counselor Joe Barkon, Resident Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Grand Bassa County, Counselor Ousman Feika, Resident Judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court in Grand Cape Mount County, Counselor Roland Dahn, Resident Judge of the Eight Judicial Circuit In Nimba County, Counselor Onesimus Barwon, Resident Judge of the Fourteen Judicial Circuit Court in Rivercess County as Well as Attorney Patrick Williams who was Appointed as Debt Court Judge of Bong County.

Those Counselors were appointed by the Liberian head of State, President George Weah on October 26, 2018.

The Head of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Varney Sherman conducted the proceeding where the five nominees were quizzed for several hours in connection with their duty.

The confirmation hearing was meant to determine the fate of these nominees would be determined in the next few days by the senators as to whether or not they will be confirmed.
