MONROVIA T-he Country Director of the Living Water International Project (LWIP), Pastor Alfred Beyan has disclosed that the organization is committed to providing safe drinking water to those within vulnerable communities.

He said most of the communities within both the urban and rural areas lack the provision of safe drinking water, mostly in the vulnerable areas in which they are working.

Speaking in Paynesville recently, Pastor Beyan said those in the rural parts of the country are facing serious constraints to have access to safe drinking water.

According to him, most of the people in the rural communities are drinking from creeks, something that prompted his organization to intensify the installation of hand pumps in those communities.

He narrated that the Living Water International Project since 2017 has installed over a hundred twenty hand pumps in Montserrado, Bong, Margibi, Nimba, Bomi, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, and Lofa Counties.

Pastor Beyan further elaborated that his organization only needs the community to inform his office that they do not have a hand pump, and Living Water International Project will respond to their needs.

He said the organization’s donor only needs the information concerning the living condition of the people with a focus on the lack of safe drinking water, stressing that water is life.

Pastor Beyan told the media that the beneficiaries are always grateful for the intervention by Living Water International’s project.

He said sometimes, community residents come down with waterborne diseases due to the kinds of water they drink, especially in rural areas.

Pastor Beyan emphasized the joy of his intervention in shifting the lives of many Liberians in rural Liberia by making them stop drinking unsafe water.

He further disclosed that the organization is establishing schools for those within the rural communities for vulnerable children.
