Liberia News: War Crimes Court Office Gets New Director

Liberia-President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed Cllr. Jallah A. Barbu as Executive Director of the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court (WECC) with immediate effective.

According to an Executive Mansion press release, this appointment follows the recommendation of the Search Committee, which identified Cllr. Barbu as the ideal candidate due to his extensive experience and qualifications.

The E. Mansion outlined Cllr. Barbu’s career including his roles as the Head of the Law Reform Commission and as Dean of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia, among other notable positions.

According to the release, President Boakai expressed full confidence that Cllr. Barbu will carry out this vital role with unwavering dedication, a commitment to justice, and loyalty to the state as he looks forward to the significant contributions the new Executive Director will bring to the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court in pursuit of justice for Liberia.

President Boakai further calls on Cllr. Barbu to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to country.
