“Write On Inspiring Subjects”

-Liberian Author Encourages Kinsmen

A Liberian writer, Alpha B. Collins is encouraging his fellow Liberians particularly those aspiring to become good authors to concentrate their writings on impactful subjects that would benefit the nation’s current and future generations meaningfully.

The Liberian author made the comment recently when he officially launched his book ‘365 Quotes, Answers to Questions You’ve Been Asking’ at a local hotel in Monrovia, claiming that he was an author “spiritually” prior to publishing his first book.

According to Collins, it doesn’t matter where you started as a writer, but what matters most is where you finish and your work must be able to have an impact on present and future generations to come.

Collins indicated that his book addresses what he termed as the “3Rs of life,” namely, relationship, resilience and resources, which he termed as the hidden tools needed to triumph above contemporary trials and tribulations.

Relating to divinity, he opined that human relationship with God is beyond the ordinary, stressing that it is experiencing God that gives mankind energy to become successful in life. The young Liberian author further urged Liberians to build relationship with their friends, describing friendship as a fertilizer that prepares a person for the future.

Meanwhile, Michael Richards who served as chief launcher of the ‘Book’ stated that the manuscript has a simple but deep orientation that can stimulate the minds of people in order to always think and talk positively regardless of their background.

Richards used the occasion to urge youths who are struggling to find the true purpose and meaning of life to review the introduction of the book which according to him demonstrates the importance of living and trusting in God.

Also speaking at the launch, Minister Zoegar Wilson of the Ministry of Youth and Sports decried the behavior of some youths he said are in the constant habits of settling for little or nothing in life and called on them to desist from such act as some of what they desire in life are not healthy for them.

Wilson stated that the government of Liberia has the responsibility to provide opportunities for the young people of Liberia. He lauded Collins for his resilience in life owing to the fact that he did not settle for what life has to offer because he knew what he wanted.
