MONROVIA-President George M. Weah is optimistic that one of his signature development projects which is the Bali Island will be dedicated because he is a man who talks and do.
President Weah in 2018 visited the Bali Island with his developmental partner, the Indian Government to build the Mahandas Gandhi conference hall in Liberia, the proposed structure that is expected to be the biggest conference center in the country.
The Conference hall will be a gift to Liberia by the Government and people of India.
Mahandas Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist and political ethicist who employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India’s independence from British rule and turned inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
During his assertion at the Bali Island, the Liberian leader told the public that, the island will be transformed into a new Monrovia city that will have overhead bridge that will link Island to crow hall, Monrovia.
Since President Weah’s visitation at the Bali Island where he said it had been his vision from his youthful days to see the Island transformed into city with infrastructure developments, up to now, no work has commenced as a means of making such vision a reality.
Because of such delay, critics have turned President Weah’s vision to develop the Bali Island as political affirmation.
But dedicating the 14th Military Hospital which he said is one of his signature projects also, President Weah admitted that there were many who doubted his ability to bring those projects to fruition.
According to the Liberian leader, those skeptics do not discourage nor distract him from his mission.
He told the public that with the help of God, he will succeed in building the Bali Island into a city.
“As Og Mandino has said, and I quote:” Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough “God being my helper, Bali Island will be another success story, and the naysayers will once again be surprised” president Weah indicated.
President Weah said the completion of the 14th Military Hospital that is fully equipped, staffed and ready to serve Liberia is a realization of his commitment to providing those infrastructure developments that will make impactful contribution to the society.
With the commitment by the Liberian leader with less than two years in his administration without a single project to be undertaken on the Bali Island, he has again reiterated that the project will become a success.
