MONROVIA-It was a dramatic scene when Madam Mary Tanyonoh Broh visited the Du-Port Road Baptist Field Voter’s Registration Center and brought the entire registration process to a halt due to the “filthiness” of the center.
Madam Broh, came wearing green and white outfits and ordered Workers of the Liberia Electricity City Corporation (LEC) to clear up the site.
She made the workers to place crushed rocks on the stage the process was taking place.
Madam Broh mocked the National Election Commission (NEC) for the “poor manner ”in which the registration process was proceeding.
“If I were the one doing this, the area will be very clean, and citizens will be seated as they go through their registration process,” she said.
As the process was halted for about 40 to 45 minutes, some citizens who have gone to do their registration were seen murmuring over the actions of Madam Broh.
There were mixed views about the action of Madam Broh.
Some citizens welcomed her action to have left her work at LEC and placed an order, where the Voter Registration Process was taking place.
The citizens were heard questioning her wisdom to have done a clear-up campaign at the time the “delayed” voter registration was being done.
At the end of the process, Madam Broh ordered her guards to set up the place with plastic chairs for citizens to be seated in an orderly manner to have their process done.“We are not standing again and the process is going on well.
