Report reaching this paper says President George Weah reportedly authorized Finance and Development Planning Minister to make available US$150,000.00 to fly ailing Public Minister Mabutu Vlah Nyenpan out of the country for advance medical treatment.
The Works Minister is battling severe stroke and reportedly went into coma as news of his death even flooded social media (Facebook), but the report was rubbished by Ojuku Nyenpan believed to be relative of Minister Nyenpan.
In his official Facebook post Thursday September 3, 2020, Ojuku Nyenpan wrote on Facebook “For the sake of family and friends, I must do this: Minister Nyenpan is alive. The breaking news on social media is false.”
Minister Nyenpan is said have been resuscitated, but his health condition remains a point of concern as President George Weah ordered that he be flown out of the country.
When contacted, Deputy Information Minister, Eugene Fahngon confirmed that Minister Nyenpan has been flown out of the country for Ghana for advance medical treatment, but said he is not aware of the monetary value for his travel.
“For now I can confirm to you that the Public Works Minister has been flown out of the country to Ghana as far as the total cost is concerned, I cannot tell you. I don’t have the exact information I don’t want to undercut or overstate it,” Minister Fahngon said.
It is not clear which airlines flown him out of the country.
