US Based Liberian Woman Fosters Peace

A Liberian based in the United States of America has embarked on a robust peace and unity amongst the citizens of Gyabo Community in Grand Kru County.

Madam Elizabeth Garwo who is the daughter of the land decision to   foster   peace reconciliation   and unity amongst the people of Gyabo   in District one Grand Kru County was due to political and ethnic differences that resulted in disunity, something that has impeded the development of their area.

Because of her efforts to unite the people of Gyabo, the citizens over the weekend demonstrated their love and appreciation by honoring madam Garwo.

Performing the gowning and certificating, Madam Garwo ,  Grand Kru County  District #1  Representative   Nathaniel  Bahway    described   madam Garwo   as a true unifier  who has been working  to unite  the people  of Gyabo  since 1974 .

According to him, the honoree   has been committed in ensuring the   upholding of   peace, unity and development   of   the citizens of Gyabo.

Speaking   over the weekend during program marking   the continuation of the reunion ceremony of the Gyabo Community in Monrovia held in the Battery Factory Community, Representative   Bahway     indicated that with the level of efforts by madam Garwo in uniting the people, it    has contributed positively   towards the   development   of Gyabo   in Grand Kru County.

He used the occasion to express gratitude to madam Garwo   for coming to the aid of her people over the years.

The Grand Kru County lawmaker reveled that   madam Garwo did not relent to engage into assisting her people   when she was opportune to travel    to the United States   of America but was able to remember   the constraints that her kinsmen are confronted with.

For her   part, madam   Elizabeth Gedi Garwo   appreciated the people of Gyabo for recognizing her humanitarian contribution to the development of their district.

According to her, working for the unity of their town initiated since 1972 when some misunderstanding erupted amongst the citizens she was able to called on the chiefs and other   citizens from Gyabo   and hosted   the ceremony    for a reconciliation in Pleebo Maryland County, but she was opportune to travel    to the United States of America based on the request by her husband.

She further narrated that her return to Liberia allowed her to complete   the reconciliation process of the Gyabo people both in Grand Kru and Montserrado Counties respectively.

Madam Garwo also disclosed that she has constructed a hospital for the people of Gyabo and turned it over to   the Liberian Government to address the medical needs of her kinsmen.

She further revealed that all of her humanitarian development has no political ambition indicating that the welfare of her people is her interest and not for political benefit.

“I am old now what I Am doing is not for political position   those who are young and are willing to seek for political position we will support them,” she indicated.

She however vowed to keep on providing those social basic supports for her people at all times thus encouraging them to foster peace unity and development.
