Tonpo Embarks on PUL’s Peace Campaign

MOROVIA-The Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, (MICAT) has embarked on the process of ensuring that the electoral fracas of the Press Union of Liberia, (PUL) is resolved amicably.

Jarlawah Tonpon is urging media stakeholders to also get involved in the reconciliation process.

Deputy Minister Tonpon noted that it was needless parties involved in the Union’s election to keep the Union stagnated.

He noted that as Liberia joins the world over to celebrate World Press Freedom, it is important these individuals bury the hatched and iron out their differences.

Speaking on OK FM 99.5,   Tonpon noted that it is prudent for peace to reign in the Union.

The Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs stressed that it was about time for Members on the PUL to focus on unifying the Union.

Minister Tonpo urged media practitioners to use the celebration to examine the progress made in the practice of journalism.

He frowned at individuals who are involved in boycotting the Union’s activities.

Tonpo has vowed to remain committed in his the reconciliatory process of the PUL.

The Deputy Minister for Press and Public Affairs noted that he has reached out to the two parties involved in the Union’s electoral disputes.
