GANTA-The Liberian National Bar Association-LNBA has conducted its national elections with Sylvester D. Rennie replacing Cllr. Taiwan Gongloe as its leader. Rennie was vice president to the Cllr. Taiwan Gongloe.
The new president won with 218 votes, while Cllr. Jallah Barbu got 129 votes, Cllr. Alhaji Swaliho Sasey received 13 votes and Cllr. Abrahim Sillah obtained 114 votes .
For the vice president’s position, Cllr. Jamal Dehtho got 250 votes, while Bobby Livingstone received 215 votes. For the position of Secretary General, Bornor Varmah received 294 votes, while Atty. Lamii Kpargoi got 85 votes.
The Treasurer position was won by Cllr. Rachael Yahab-Duobah with 254 votes. She was followed by Atty. Mameita Jabateh-Sirleaf with 212 votes.
According to our correspondent at the convention, voting ended at 04:am GMT, November 28, 2021.
“The election was highly contested. Almost every candidate I spoke with here, expressed optimism of victory,” our correspondent said.
