MONROVIA-The Swedish Ambassador accredited near Monrovia, Urban Sjostrom has warned against the trucking of voters from one destination to another.
Speaking Tuesday, April 26, 2023, at the National Election Commission Inter-Party Consultative Committee Meeting, Sjostrom noted that voter trucking leads to many untimely deaths in the country.
He called on political parties, and NEC to be decisive on the implementation of the electoral regulation.
The Swedish Ambassador mentioned that the campaign regulation is important to the strengthening of the country’s democracy.
“The practice of voter’s trucking is illegal, and it is against the Electoral Laws.
“This practice is against the basic principles of representative democracy,” he lamented.
