Swedish Ambassador Concludes Dedication Assessment

MARYLAND-   A high-powered Delegation led by Swedish Ambassador, URBAN SJÕSTRŌM, accredited near Monrovia, has concluded a one-week tour in Maryland County.

The Delegation included Executives of the Swedish Embassy, the United Nations Foundation Population, (UNFPA), Ministry of Health, (MoH ) among others.

The essence of the tour was to assess the funded projects of the Swedish Government in the country.

 Ambassador SJÕSTRŌM informed journalists over the weekend that the tour will be focused in three Counties in the Southeast, namely: Grand Gedeh, River Gee, and Maryland Counties.

He disclosed that the Swedish Government has made significant efforts to improve education with particular emphasis on the establishment of health clubs for female students in the country.

Ambassador URBAN mentioned that he observed the poor performances of Health Clubs in the County during his assessment.

For his part, Charles Lawrence, Program Officer at the Swedish Embassy mentioned that there have been reports of female abuses in the county.
