Speaking to hundreds of citizens in Molon’s Town, Geegbahn Electoral District two recently, Superintendent Barkpeh said he wouldn’t relent in suspending any local official who will not respond to duties responsively.
According to our correspondent in the county, Superintendent Barkpeh believes there are some local authorities who feel complacent in doing their work on grounds that their salaries will come even if they are not working.
Superintendent Barkpeh has also expressed disenchantment in those officials who operate in unclean environments and failing to utilize authority vested in them by the law.
He pointed out that it is sadden to see clinics, schools, roads, towns and other dwelling places unclean when there are Town Chiefs, Clan Chiefs, Paramount Chiefs and others who have the authority to compare the citizens to give their environment a facelift.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Barkpeh has threatened to suspend any local official who fail to work in the complete interest of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led government as the operation of the government is “Fire for Fire”.
In a related development, Barkpeh has cautioned citizens to focus on schooling their children and stop undermining government.
The youngest superintendent in the history of Grand Bassa County alleged that parents of Geegbahn are using their kids for farming, and market purposes instead of going to school for a better tomorrow.
Commenting further, Barkpeh explained it is very bad for parents to follow those mistakes that were made in the past. He promised to jail parents who children will not be in school next academic school year.
Barkpeh used the medium to advise young people of the district to stop undermining government as it has been happening in the past.
He told the local officials that he has not come to the county to hunt people who did not support CDC during the campaign, but to work with cross-section of citizens for the forward march of the county.
