MONROVIA-The Liberia National Police has arrested and is investigating suspect Emmanuel T.Momo, a resident of the Zubah Town Community in connection with the murder of his mother.
On Saturday, January 28, suspect Momo allegedly mobbed his biological mother, Lorpu Singbed, 57 years old with some instrument believed to be a stick.
According to police spokesman Moses Carter, the cause of the mobbed violence against his own mother is still unknown.
Carter disclosed that the culture of impunity will end under the leadership of the current Police Inspector General Patrick Sudue.
The police are expected to press murder charges against the defendant for taking the life of another Liberian citizen. Murder is a first-degree felony under the revised penal code of Liberia. A person could get life imprisonment when found guilty.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased victim Lorpu are currently deposited at the John Kennedy Morgue for preservation, while suspect Emmanuel Momo is detained at the headquarters of Liberia.
