Snowe Donates 32-Seated Bus To Bomi County

As part of his love for his county and citizens, Bomi County electoral district one Representative, Edwin Melvin Snowe over the weekend donated a 32-seated Nissan bus to Bomi County local leadership.

Speaking during the donation, Representative Snowe said it is his political team own way of identifying with the local authorities which according to him will be a boost in enhancing their works in the county.

During the 2017 presidential and legislative elections in the country, Bomi County was one of the tension pack counties due to differences in political ideologies and attachments.

But the victorious lawmaker said the election has come and gone and it was time to work together for the common good of the county and its citizens.

He said the bus will help alleviate some of the transportation constraints the people of the county have had over the years.

“You can formulate a program how you want to use the bus in the county. I don’t hold personal issues against people and we if we have to fight, let’s fight and after the fighting we shake hands and we are friends again,” he said.

Snowe reminded citizens of the county that the campaign is over and they have one government in office and they are now part of the pro-poor arrangement in the country.

The Unity Party (UP) stalwart pledged his fullest supports to the leadership of local officials in the county and committed to work in making them to succeed.

“If the government succeeds, we all succeed and if the government fails, we all failed. We all have to succeed together. This is a bus I used during my campaign. It is not a brand-new bus, but it’s in a fairly good condition. I am not loaning it to you, I am giving it to the county,” he added.

During the donation ceremony, the Bill of Sale (BOS) was presented to the new Superintendent of the county, saying they bought the bus through Afriland Bank and urged them to process the documents for the county.

“I have no more jurisdiction over it. Even if I want to use it now, I will call you and say superintendent can I use the bus,” he said.

For his part, Bomi County Superintendent Adama Robinson thanked Representative Snowe for the donation and assured him that the bus will be used for its intended purpose.

Superintendent Robinson said only brave people can do good and not the weak-minded ones.

He said since their ascendancy to the posts, the new leadership has had serious constraints, particularly vehicles to reach other parts of the county.

In a related development, Representative Snowe has been certificated and gowned by his scholarship students at the Bomi County Community College (BCCC) in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

Currently, the lawmaker has 35 scholarship students from all departments in the school and other needy students who he’s providing financial assistance to as well.

The students commended Representative Snowe for always identifying and helping them acquire their education, something they said will be remembered forever.

He was gowned with a white shirt as a sign of purity and certificated as well. During the program, fifteen students who risk dropping from school this semester at the college received 50% of their total school fees in the tone of LRD50,000.00.

Speaking at the program, Snowe promised to always help students who are willing to learn and become better future leaders.

He disclosed that he has students on his scholarship in all of the colleges and universities across the country, something he said he feels proud of as someone with passion for education.
