Sime Darby Identifies With Muslim Communities

As the month of Ramadan gradually closes on Muslims in Liberia and around the world, many people use this time to share and identify with Muslims in the country who have been on a month long fasting and praying period.

This is the case with the world largest oil palm company, Sime Darby Plantation currently operating in Liberia, particularly in the western region of the country.

The Sime Darby Plantation Liberia (SDPL) during the start of the week identified with Muslims, community dwellers within its concession areas through the distribution of rice.

Speaking on the distribution to over twenty communities within the company’s concession areas, SDPL Acting General Manager, Hj. Alikamal Abu Hassan says it is SDPL’s Corporate Social Responsibility to the Muslims communities within its operating areas.

Hassan told journalists during the distribution exercise that the company remains committed in addressing the needs of the people in whatever way possible, so as to better their lives.

“It is our way of identifying and sharing with our Muslims communities within our concession areas. We believe that following this month-long process it is about time that we recognize the efforts of these people because we believe in religious tolerance,” Hassan said.

On behalf of the management of SDPL, they would like to wish the Muslim Communities of Liberia a happy Eid Mubarak.
