Several less Fortunate School Going Children Benefit from Financial Aid

MONROVIA-The Salvation Army Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea Territory Boys and Girls Hostel have identified with several less fortunate Students at the William Booth and Len Miller Primary Schools in Paynesville City and Sinkor, Monrovia respectively.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, May 12, 2023, during the presentation of a cheque at the William Booth Primary school situated on Pipeline Road in Paynesville valued over one hundred and thirty-seven thousand Liberian Dollars (137,000 LRD), the President of the Group, Mrs. Osiah Wulah Kumeh disclosed that the former Hostel Girls and Boys have come together for the purpose of putting smiles on the faces of less fortunate Children in Liberia.

Madam Kumeh noted that the group knows what it means to be less fortunate and seek quality education in post-conflict Liberia when every sector of the country is currently faced with financial hardship that is causing many children to drop from school.

Speaking further, the President of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Hostel, who benefited from said opportunity when the Salvation Army established Hostels for both boys and girls, benefited from the Salvation Army’s goodwill in making them who they are now in society.

According to Madam Kumeh, it is now time to give back to society as they freely received from the Salvation Army back in the days when their parents couldn’t afford to keep them in school adding that they are making every effort to cover every part of Liberia where less fortunate school going children are out of school in some parts Liberia.

The President of the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Hostel used the occasion to appreciate all members of the Association both at home and abroad who willingly contributed to put smiles on the faces of less fortunate Liberian children who are finding it difficult to enter and remain in school.

Madam Osiah, also called on other well-meaning Liberians who are lovers of children to join the group to assist and build the upcoming generations which she believed will take on the mantle of authorities when the older folks are getting into their retirement stage.

She further noted that the group is fully registered and organized to operate as a None Governmental Organization involved with the business of rebuilding Liberia’s educational system through human resource development, noting that the development of Liberia depends on the younger generation and that can only happen when all Liberians wrapped hands around the less fortunate children.

Receiving the cheque or bank deposit slip from officials of the organization on behave of the Salvation Army School System, the registrar of the William Booth Primary School Mr. Clement K. Zubah lauded the Salvation Army  Boys and Girls for contemplating on those children whose parents are finding it difficult to keep them in schools.
