Sen. Snowe Supports Total Lockdown

MONROVIA- Bomi county Senator Edwin Snowe has disclosed that he is in full support for the Government to declare a total lockdown across the country as a means of preventing the spread of the new wave of the COVID-19 that is killing people.

Senator Snowe said the Government needs to take concrete actions in finding a solution to rescue the country from the resurgence of the COVID-19 that is taking the lives of many individuals in a short period of time.

Speaking on the Truth FM morning Show in Paynesville June 21, the Bomi County Lawmaker described the present situation with the COVID-19 as serious and requires national emergency and conversation.

According to him, the Liberian Government needs to put into place all of the preventive measures that will robustly address such pandemic.

He further narrated that all of the beds within those respective hospitals are occupied, as well as the oxygen plant at the Redemption Hospital has a problem.

Speaking additionally, Senator Snowe however said the Government has a plan to go to nearby countries to purchase oxygen; something he said needs urgent attention by those heading the health sector to remedy the situation.

Senator Snow who is also head of Liberia Delegation at the ECOWAS Parliament said in the ECOWAS Region there are now conversations for only Liberians who are fully vaccinated to be allowed to travel, emphasizing   that such information will shortly be disclosed by the authority.

He additionally said the Government needs to now connect with all of its international partners to ensure that Liberia gets all of the help that it needs in battling the COVID-19 by being vaccinated.

He used the interview to call on Liberians to use their nose mask highlighting that some closer friends have come down with the virus.

He urged Liberians not to use the nose mask as a fashion, but to ensure that they are properly used for the overall good of the nation.

The Bomi Lawmaker also wants authorities at the Roberts International Airport to be more vigilant by ensuring that everyone   who will be given entry into the country that a COVID-19 test must be administered at the airport and wait for his or her result at the airport before departure as been instituted by other countries.

According  to him , in other West African Countries, people are paying  for  the COVID-19 test signifying that  such can  be instituted at the various airports of Liberia especially, RIA.

Senator Snowe further urged Liberians not to politicize the issues of COVID-19 emphasizing that the death rate is high as a result of the resurgence of the pandemic.
