Rep Domah Wants Townships In Garwonpa & Miahplay Yezleah

Nimba electoral district seven Representative, Roger Domah has submitted a Bill to the plenary of the House of Representatives for the creation of townships in his district.

The Nimba County lawmaker wants the creation of townships in Garwonpa in Wee-Gbehyi Administrative district and Miaplay Yezleah in Zoe-Gbao Administrative district all in his district.

In his communication to the plenary of the House of Representatives, Rep Domah said the Bills are proffered upon the request of citizens from communities of his district and he hopes that they will meet the approval of his colleagues.

Further authenticating his quest, the Unity Party (UP) stalwart said the people of Garwonpa have a huge population of approximately nine thousand, six hundred and twenty (9,620) inhabitants with over four thousand square kilometers.

In his Bill, Representative Domah reminded his colleagues about the development needs of the growing population in that part of the country is a challenge to the area and will require an efficient and responsive administration to bridge the administrative gaps in the district.

Article 34 (a) of the 1986 Constitution of Liberia empowers the National Legislature to create new counties and other political sub-divisions and readjust existing counties.

Following the reading of the Bill, a motion was filed by Nimba County electoral district nine Representative Johnson Gwaikolo for the Bill to be sent to the committees on Internal Affairs, Ways, Means, Finance and Development Planning and Judiciary.
