Rep. Cole Brags About Beating Peaceful Citizens in Bong County

By Patrick Stephen Tokpah

Gbarnga-Bong County Electoral District # 3 Representative,  Josiah Marvin Cole has bragged about brutally assaulting some peaceful Citizens in the  Cotton Tree Community, in Bong County.

On February 18, 2023, some Local Dwellers of Gbarnga alleged that Representative Cole ordered his thugs to flog them on grounds that they obstructed his movement as a sitting lawmaker by blocking the motor road leading to his Cotton Tree Residence.

According to the victims, the road in question passes through a land that was legally acquired by a man identified as Joseph K. Binda, but Cole allegedly ordered their flogging and demanded that they immediately halt the ongoing house project until he sees the documents that authorize them to construct that structure. Representative Cole who earlier denied the allegations, was on Saturday, March 11, 2023 seen in a Live Facebook video bragging about beating Mr. Joseph K. Binda and his Children for deliberately refusing to listen to his instructions.

The Lawmaker said Victim Binda was possessed by an evil spirit that needed severe flogging.

He pointed out that with the action taken against Binda, he does not have the guts to go back to the land in the name of building his house.

Without regret, Representative Cole said he does not care about his re-election as a representative but will accomplish what he has planned to achieve before the October 10, 2023’s Legislative and Presidential Elections.

Cole has been in the media for allegedly squandering the Gbondoi Health’s Center funds.

Of recent, the Bong County District#3 Representative admitted requesting the County’s Health Team to transfer funding intended for Gbondoi Health Center to Kpaiyah’s Clinic in Bequelleh Clan, Jorquelleh District.

According to the Lawmaker, the Ministry of Health has duly advised him to focus on the construction of one facility having received US$100,000.00 for the two projects in the 2022’s National Budget.
