Members of the House of Representatives are currently investigating the management of Sime Darby for an alleged torturing reportedly carried out by security officers of the company.
But in a press statement Monday, the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) urged the lawmakers to avoid intervening in the investigation at this early stage and refrain from the use of its Contempt Charge, saying “the law must take its course and justice must be served”. The INCHR said the public must wait for the outcome of the investigation before concluding.
