PUL Announces Memorial Service For KAK

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) announces the holding of a memorial service in honor of its immediate past President, Kamara Abdullai Kamara.

The late Kamara Abdullai Kamara alias KAK
The inter-religious service will start at 2pm prompt at the Monrovia City Hall. The Union is therefore calling on media practitioners, executives, developers and members of the public to turn out to honor the works of a fallen giant in the media in Liberia.

PUL’s past and late President Kamara died suddenly on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, as a result of what doctors have said is “hypertensive stroke” at the Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The Journalism Community in Liberia remains devastated by this irreparable blow on the media landscape.
The PUL said Kamara was one of the country’s professionals and priceless assets who meaningfully contributed to enhancing professionalism in the Media in Liberia.
The distinguished journalist professional life covered an extraordinary period during which he worked for several local and international institutions including The News Newspaper, limited time in public relations at the Capitol Building and rendered services at different points in the NGO Community.

Kamara was elected President of the Press Union of Liberia in 2013.

Meanwhile, media practitioners and the public are informed that a book of condolence in memory of the late Abdullai Kamara will be placed at the entry of the Ball Room at the Monrovia City Hall for signing.

During his short, but impactful professional life, Kamara’s strive for excellence was backed by an incomparable networking quality which touched not only his fellow journalism professionals, but individuals from other professions.

Press Union of Liberia’s President, Charles B. Coffey, Jr. has urged all journalists, the family and the public to show up at the Monrovia City Hall at 1:30pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, to celebrate the contributions of Kamara to Liberia.
