National Port Authority (NPA) Acting Managing Director, Cecelia Cuffy Brown has been hooked by the Bushrod Island Magisterial court for reported theft of services in the tone of US$600.00.
The NPA boss was dragged to the Bushrod Island Magisterial Court by a Liberian Journalist and publisher of the Corruption Watch Newspaper, Roland Worwee for an action of theft of services after she allegedly retained his services to do publication of pictorial in Corruption Watch newspaper, after the services was completed, the defendant reportedly failed, refused and neglected to pay him in the amount of US$600.00, after several and repeated demands.
The writ said the act of the defendant is a gross violation of section 15, 52 of the New Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
“Private prosecutor appeared before this court and complains against you the within named defendant and after swearing upon oath that you the defendant retained his services to do publication of pictorial in corruption watch newspaper, after the services was completed you the defendant failed, refused and neglected to pay him in the amount $600.00USD, after several and repeated demands,” the writ said
The court further notifies madam Brown that failure to appear before it, a judgment shall be rendered by default.
Accordingly, the case is expected to be heard today, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the precise hour of 10.00a.m.
