Pro-Temp Chie Urges Old, New Senators

-Calls on Them To Ensure Vigor, Sets Eight Targets During The 4th Session

The Senate Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Senator Albert Chie has urged his old colleagues and new senators to ensure vigor as they resume works for the Liberian people.

Speaking at the opening of the 4th Session of the Liberian Senate, Pro-Temp Chie said they expect the new Senators to come with vigor.

The Grand Kru County Senator also called on the old Senators to begin the 4th Session with a new determination.

Speaking further, Senator Chie named legislative agenda for the 4th session as the liquidity issues involving both Liberian and US dollar currencies at the banks in the market; restoration of confidence in the banking sector; measures to strengthen the Liberian economy; review of certain concession agreements by the Executive Branch as the review period indicated in some of them have since elapsed and for other concessions; profound changes in current circumstances necessitate reviewing them to achieve a win-win situation for the investor and the government.

Others are review of the status of the various  agreements  approved by successive governments, review of legislation for pensions of various categories of public servants to ensure they live decent lives after so many years of sacrificial public service; amendment to the existing penal codes among others.
