The President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Senator Albert Chie has made a cash donation of L$1million to the Grand Kru University Students Union.
Making the donation recently during the installation of officials of the student organization, the Special Assistant to the Pro-Temp, Furcas Wilson told the student body of Senator Chie preparedness in working with them in achieving their dreams.
Wilson who proxy on behalf of the Pro-Temp during the installation and fund-raising rally of the Grand Kru University Students Union further indicated that the donation is gear toward aiding the students from the County attending various Universities and Colleges in Monrovia have unhindered educational quest.
The Pro-temp Special Assistant also assured the student leadership that the doors of the Pro-Tempore will always be opened for interventions, acknowledging that his boss as an instructor has and will always intervene in meaningful ventures for the youth and student communities.
Furcas at the same time commending the students for a peaceful election that brought into place the new leadership.
He also used the occasion to urge the new officials of the student body not to betray the trust reposed in them by their colleagues, adding “Always have an open leadership and information sharing and the interest of Grand Kru shall be the hallmark of your leadership”.
At the same time, Grand Kru County electoral District two Representative, J. Fonati Koffa has also donated L$475,000 to the Grand Kru University Student Union.
In response, the president of the Grand Kru University Students union Nelson Torbel commended the gesture rendered them by authorities of the county.
Torbel maintained that these meaningful donations are milestone in helping students of the County to achieve their dreams of achieving quality education.
According to Torbel, Pro-Temp Chie has always identified and remains the highest contributor of the student community of Grand Kru.
