Liberian president, George Weah in a short reshuffle late Thursday, dismissed the president of the University of Liberia Dr. Ophelia Inez Weeks citing no reason.
The appointment takes effect replacing her with Dr. Julius Sawolo Nelson. Madam Weeks was the state run university’s 14thpresident.
The dismissal comes following series of meetings held by the faculty staff of the university about planned protest due to salary delay. Moreover, under her administration, series of protests took place during the regime of former president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s admon.Flash back:(photo of some protesting UL students). The students at the time called for her dismissal by madam Sirleaf. But protesting students at the time said madam Weeks told them that Ex-president Sirleaf could not dismiss her because she was competent and if any student was unhappy, should leave the University.TNR
