President George Manneh Weah has sent a message of consolation to the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia, following a tragic earthquake and tsunami which hit the Indonesian city of Palu, killing more than 840 persons.
A Foreign Ministry release says while expressing sympathy to his Indonesian counterpart, President George Manneh Weah stated ‘it is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we learned of the death of more than 840 persons, as a result of the 7.5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami in the Indonesian city of Palu”.
In the message to His Excellency Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, extended heartfelt condolences to the Indonesian leader, and through him, to the Government and People of Indonesia, especially the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained.
The Liberian leader then hoped and prayed that President Joko Widodo and the people of Indonesia will find comfort, fortitude and endurance during this difficult period of national mourning.
