Police prevents Patient from visiting US Embassy?

MONROVIA, October 3(TNR)—Liberia National Police on Thursday refused for Justina Taylor to visit the US Embassy for discussions saying she needed to answer questions.

As a result of that, the Police used force to disburse protesting citizens who had gone to escort Justina Taylor.

“The police had to disburse some lawless people who blocked the entrance o the Catholic Hospital this afternoon. They went to get Justina Taylor to a place we do not know,” Anthony K. Nyanlu, Acting Media Relations officer for the Liberia National Police told New Republic on phone.

Some supporters, friends and sympathizers of Justina had gone to the hospital to take her to the US Embassy for discussions. (eye witnesses  told this paper). Details of the discussions for which she has been invited was not disclosed.

Justina Kumba Taylor recently accused the Monrovia City Major Jefferson Koijee of murder on social media recently.  That  Koijee brought  into the country consignment of ammunition.  After the allegations, according to family sources, she was drugged and raped by unknown persons. She was taken to the Catholic Hospital undergoing medication.

Eye witnesses at the hospital junction said Justina has been denied leaving the hospital to go and hold discussions with  US  Embassy officials.

“When we came this morning to get her, we saw some CDcians  to the gate saying we will not take her. As soon as they said that, we saw the presence of police to the entrance,” Robert  T. Kolie, said.

He added that the police “came to arrest her. They told us that she  should go to the police station  with her lawyer to answer questions.”

At the hospital junction, rocks, stones, iron and other deadly weapons were seen on the streets. At one point, there was a pandemonium that made many people to run. Some police officers were seen running to safety while other officers   called  for calm.plp

“There are two groups of people here. Justina Taylor’s  supporters and those against  her. Jefferson Koijee sent some people here. They are the main people that do not want for Justina to leave,” one lady, only identified herself as  Rachael said.

Several people Riot police are deployed at the Catholic Hospital Junction as well as to the hospital compound.

“I think she made some grave allegations and she needs to answer questions. So, the police only went to her so she can report to the headquarters for questioning.  This is a country of law.” Nyanlu said.   He added, “the police had to use the appropriate means to disburse the crowd.”

The senator for Montserrado County, Darous Dillon visited the scene to know what was ongoing. He posted on his face book page that; “We will not rest contend until we ensure her wellbeing and personal safety. If there is an arrest warrant on Justina Taylor for any legal and justified reason, serve it on her.  She is Not above the law; until then she should be a free woman. Let her go!”

When this paper called him for comment, he said he was in a meeting.

Justina in a video recording around the National Elections Commission(NEC) headquarters,  she was heard saying that Jefferson Koijee, Thomas Fallah and Saah Joseph have  men led by ‘Mulbah Kesselly’ to kill her.

“The opposition has your clip; everywhere you have your weapons we know it already, but because we don’t want the Liberian people to rise against you, this is why we do not want to expose you,” she said.

In the same video, she is heard accusing Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee for taking part  in the Liberian civil war assigned with Chuckie Taylor, son of Charles Ghanky Taylor.

She alleged that Koijee killed a handicapped child born by a Mulatto woman for Chuckie Taylor. But when this paper contacted an officer who worked with Chuckie Taylor for several years said; “when I was there, I did not see Jefferson Koijee with Chuckie. If he was in the Small Boy Unit(SBU), I did not see him.”

“What I do know is that yes, there was a child born in John F. Kennedy Hospital without one hand. Chuckie disowned that child and the child I am told is with his mother either in Ghana or somewhere around the world,” the source who declined to be name said.

There was no comment from the US Embassy on this when contacted. It is not known whether Senator Dillon was able to allow her  leave.
