MONROVIA-Several Youth and Student Organizations within the municipality of Paynesville have applauded the Paynesville City Government under the stewardship of Mayor- E. Pam Belcher Taylor for the level of cooperation and partnerships through promoting youth empowerment and community development within the city.

The different Youth Organizations made the statements in Paynesville when Representatives from different organizations and other prominent figures in the youth and student community paid a courtesy visit at the Paynesville City Corporation on November 2nd 2021 and expressed their institutions’ continuous support in developing the city at different layers. In separate remarks, the Leaders of the different groups recounted the many charity works and support Mayor Taylor continued to render different organizations/communities during the implementation of their different planned programs. Key amongst those organizations that visited Mayor Taylor included; The ECOWAS Youth Assembly- Liberia Chapter, Coalition for Patriotic Action, Paynesville Youth Alliance, Intellectual Students of Paynesville, Young Women Against Illicit Drugs, Paynesville Citizens Movement, Professional Network of Paynesville, Dream Builders International, Paynesville Students Alliance among others .

It can be recalled that since the appointment of Mayor Taylor early 2018 by His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, Youth Empowerment, Educational Opportunities and Inclusive Community Development have been priority areas for Mayor Taylor in transforming the city. With the ongoing projects and programs through partnerships with different International  and Local organization along with the corporation, we can safely say the city government is making significant progress and there are more works that need to be done within our city, as such, we are kindly appealing to the 54th National Legislature in order to have increment in the National budget for the Paynesville City Corporation for Fiscal Year 2022 as a cohesive medium in which many poor sanitary issues can be addressed.

Investments in the City Corporation will help strengthen the City Ordinance and advance the developmental drive of the City.  One thing that we must be very clear of here is that there is a serious mis-behavioral pattern from cross sections of our citizens, thus contributing hugely to some of the poor sanitary issues in our city and other environs, the Youth Leaders assert.

The Organization Leaders also vowed to serve as Ambassadors in their respective communities as a medium in raising more awareness regarding the disposal of garbage/wastes and to also work with established Community Based Enterprises (CBEs) in their respective Communities.

For her part, Mayor Taylor lauded the Youth Leaders for the visit and their continuous engagements and commitments to the City Administration in serving the great people of Paynesville in helping to transform the City. Mayor Taylor used the occasion and encouraged the Youth leaders to create different programs in order to help clean and create educational programs for our communities through different groups.

Mayor Taylor emphasized on her mini scholarship scheme which continued to help cross-section of young people at different fronts.  Illicit drug is a serious threat affecting our City, as such, there are more awareness and rehabilitation programs that will help transform the minds of our young people, she asserts. It can be recalled that last week, City Alliance Liberia donated several sanitary materials to the Paynesville City Corporation in helping to enhance the community service of the City.  Mayor Taylor has a strong passion towards youth development and she continued to showcase her passion for youth transformation.

Mayor Taylor is a recipient of several respectable accolades from cross section of institutions,   based on her strong community development skills in helping to buttress national government policy framework, the Pro Poor Agenda for prosperity and Development that aligns to Community Development.
