The Liberia National Police (LNP) has declared one of its officers in person of Patrolman Emmanuel B. Wesley wanted for allegedly raping a sixteen year old girl in the S.K.D community in Paynesville.
On June 20, 2020, it was alleged that the 16 years old minor was taken to the Zone eight Deport two during the night hours by her mother after the survivor was cut in a vehicle with another guy who attempted raping her.
Being terrified and concern to know what her daughter was doing in said vehicle, the victim was taken to the police station to be there until the next day so as to explain what she (the minor) and the guy were doing in the vehicle in question, but in the process she got re-victimized by Patrolman Wesley.
The authority of the Liberia National Police further condemned the alleged act commissioned by one of its officers and assured the public that it takes the allegation very seriously and will do everything humanly possible to have Wesley arrested and face the full weight of the law when guilty.
Patrolman Wesley is also said to be a close companion of the survivor’s father and had always been with the family in every issues long before the minor dad travel, but took advantage of the situation by sexually abusing the child.
Since the incident, patrolman Wesley has eventually stopped going to work without any accuse or community from him as to reason for his immediate absent from job thus leaving the entire LNP in doubts; that’s according to Police Spokesman Moses Carter.
According to him, initial search by the LNP to get Wesley have failed, but Carter said they have intensified their man hunt for Patrolman Wesley saying “The officer is on the run. We been looking for him; but we are now increasing our efforts to look for him. So we put his picture all out so we can have the community and others helping us in this man hunt.”
Carter continues “We are searching everywhere not only at his residence because technically you wouldn’t expect him to be at his residence, but our officers are doing everything possible to ensure we track him and we are also speaking with some other persons as to his where about.”
Carter revealed that when found, Wesley like all other perpetrators would be investigated and forwarded to court for onward prosecution.
Meanwhile, both Emmanuel Wesley and the conductor of the vehicle have since gone missing with no trace of them. TNR
