Open Bible Recognizes Deacon Ableegar Williams

-As Father Of The Year 2018/2019

By Esau J. Farr

The good old Holy Bible says a man reaps what he sows; God is not short-sighted that he can’t see you and your trouble; ‘there is time for everything and purpose under the Heaven’, work while it is day for the darkness cometh when no man is unable to work; humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up and that He (God) is a God of time.

On the worldly scene, people say ‘It is better to give a man his flower to smell it while he is still alive’ and exactly, all of the above were in the shoes of a human and hardworking Liberian and a believer of the Holy Bible, I. Ableegar Williams popularly known as ‘The Prophet’ because of the letter ‘I’ at the beginning of his name which stands for Isaiah.

Having served on several ‘Father Day’s, program and departmental committees either as Chairman, Co-Chairman, Secretary General and member amongst others for decades in the Monrovia Open Bible Standard Church, Old Road Branch, the leadership of the church in consultation with the Men’s Department of the church named and styled ‘Men of Vision for Evangelism (MOVE)’, selected from amongst scores of men Deacon Isaiah Ableegar Williams as “Father of the year 2018/2019” on the program marking this year’s ‘Father Day’ of the church on Sunday, June 24, 2018 on the Old Road.

Making the pronouncement and declaration of the “Father of the Year 2018/2019”, the Assistant Pastor of the church, Rev. Philip G. Chea described Deacon Williams as a member without border, humble, hard-working, reachable by all, down to Earth and a man who greets the rich and poor the same way and a man who has brought a whole lot of development to the church since his entry into the church (MOBSC).

Amidst unstoppable cheers and uncontrollable joyful noise unto God for the selection of Deacon Williams, the ‘Father of the Year 2018/2019’ stood tall and overseeing the crowd as Jesus sat on the Mount of Olive during His (Jesus) on Earth, wept; something he later described as a tear of joy and a joint memory of his late mother and father and his role model in this stressful world.

“Today, as I wear this crown of glory here on Earth and seeing the love shared and shown me by this great and noble congregation and people of God, I feel obligated to God’s people and firstly I am being reminded of my late mother (pronouncing a very long Basaa name from River Cess) and father as well as my role model in life”, the father let the cat out of the bag.

His statement was in direct response to a teasing question asked him (Ableegar) by Grand Bassa County District #3 Representative, Matthew Joe who served as sashing and installing officer of the father of this year for the church.

“I thought such an occasion when the honoree is pronounced by our spiritual leaders, that individual becomes the happiest and more joyful person within the congregation, but why am I seeing the opposite as our father is instead crying”, Rep. Joe inquired.

Making a very brief remarks shortly after he was announced as father of the church, Deacon Williams thanked the leadership, men department of the church and all auxiliary groups and departments of the church for the honor bestowed upon him and promised to always work for the glorification of God as long as God’s mercy and grace carry him (Ableegar) through in this sinful world.

As part of his tasks, the Men Department of the church has embarked on the purchasing of a bus for use by the church and the new father has pledged his unflinching support to ensure that the dream of MOVE is realized.

In response to the vision of the men department, Grand Bassa County District three Representative Matthew Joe who also served as special guest of honor promised to make available forty thousand Liberia (LRD40, 000) Dollars this week as his initial contribution for the vehicle project.

Rep. Joe said, if God can stand with him to buy a car for his Senior Pastor of the Open Bible Standard Church, Headquarters Church in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, that same grace will help the department to purchase a vehicle that will bring relief to members of the church on the transportation constraints they go through most of the times.

Meanwhile, several persons were also honored as ‘Special Fathers of the Year 2018/2019’.

They include, Richard Greenfield, Samuel Koffie and Russel Dahn. Others are E. Ableegar Kangar, Tarr Garmondeh and Emmanuel Tolpoe.

Isasiah Ableegar Williams is the 29th Father of the MOBSC replacing the outgoing, Bro. Isaiah P. Gbotoe who joyfully turned over the crown to Deacon Williams as father of the church.
