MONROVIA-Ahead of Tuesday, November 16, 2021 by-elections, the National Elections Commission (NEC) on Saturday, November 13, 2021, ended the last in the series of four Electoral District Dialogues in Zwedeh, Grand Gedeh County.
The NEC-Liberia electoral district dialogues conducted in Bong, Bomi, Nimba, and Grand Gedeh counties were under the theme, “Enhancing Transparency in the Electoral Process”.
The NEC electoral district dialogues were intended to provide a platform for all citizens, including women, people living with disabilities, the media and other minorities can equitably participate in the By-elections on Tuesday, 16 November 2021 in Bong, Bomi, Grand Gedeh and Nimba and to put Candidates through a broader review of the complaint adjudication procedures.
A statement from NEC-Liberia on, Saturday, 13 November 2021 said, the electoral district dialogues were also intended to ensure that Candidates and their supporters conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the by-elections and to create a platform where the Commission and Candidates and other election stakeholders can interact with a mutual spirit of partnership.
The NEC-Liberia 2021 representative electoral district dialogues were conducted in Tubmanburg, Gbarnga, Ganta and Zwedeh cities. with members of the Board of Commissioners (BOC), Senior Technicians, Candidates for the 2021 By-elections, members of Civil Society groups, including the media, teachers, youth and women discussed several topics including electoral dispute resolution mechanisms and inclusiveness in the elections.
