A formal official of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change Mohammed DK Kanneh is appealing to officials of the party to re-consider him within the party as a member once again.

Kanneh who joined the CDC in 2005 and served as a deputy National mobilization chairman for recruitment and membership Committee left the party in 2017 to contest in the Presidential and Representative elections in Bomi County district#3.

Kanneh who was defeated in the 2017 elections contested on the ticket of the Liberia People’s Party headed by Dr. Henry Fahnbulleh after leaving the CDC.

“I am pleased to extend my compliment to you and herewith seek your indulgence for acceptance and consideration within the mighty Congress for Democratic Change, the CDC,’’ Kanneh appealed.

Speaking Saturday, October 6, 2018, in Monrovia, Kanneh said he regrets every movement and circumstances that kept him away from active participation in the party functionality over the year.

“On this basis, I want to use this medium to extend my sincere apology to the first partisan, his Excellency President George M. Weah, our dynamic and fire burning chairman, Mr. Mulbah K. Morlu and the entire membership of the mighty Congress for Democratic Change  and well-wishers for whatever inconvenient my short stay away from the party may have caused,’’ he said.

He said appealing to officials of the party to re-consider him as prodigal son is in the best interest of national unity and reconciliation.

According to Kanneh, his decision to leave the party during the elections was based on his desire to contest in the elections which CDC has no space for him to contest on the party’s ticket in Bomi County district #3.

Kanneh explained that “elections are now over and it is about time that I come back to my root and help contribute to the forward march of the party that will cooperatively support the Pro-poor agenda of President Weah.’’

Kanneh explained that he has officially written the first partisan, President Weah, National Chairman and other party executives to re-consider him and have him forgiven.

The former party official said he is ready and fully prepared to continue his legacy for the party and in the best interest of the Liberian people.

Kanneh for the past few months had been in strong defense of the party’s policies and activities evidenced by his advocacy role and radio appearances as well as conducting press conferences.

“I call on all my supporters in both Montserrado and Bomi counties who supported me in the election to join and get actively involve into actions of the grass root party, the Coalition for Democratic Change the CDC, ’’he noted.

Speaking further, the LPP defeated representative candidate said he resigned from the Liberia People’s Party early February of this year to continue his work at CDC after his defeat.

“I once again regret my action by leaving the party for another political party,’’ Kanneh concluded.
