MOE starts to distribute chairs

MONROVIA-In fulfilement  of His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah’s pronouncement to the Ministry of Education for the procurement of 100,000 pieces of arm chairs to Public schools, the Ministry of Education has procured and commenced the distribution of locally produced arm chairs to various Public schools beginning with Montserrado County and its environs.

Today October 8, 2021, the Minister of Education Prof. Dr. D. Ansu Sonii, Sr. on behalf of the Ministry congratulates and lauds the President for his farsightedness and compassion for the upcoming generation to have sustained and transformed education for the growth and development of Mama Liberia. In the same vein, the Minister appreciates the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning for swiftly providing the funding for the procurement of said arm chairs that were produced through local manufacturers for the empowerment of Liberian businesses.

The Ministry has commenced the distribution of 24,000 arm chairs at Voker Mission High School as part of the 100,000 arm chairs pronounced by the President of the Republic of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Ministry is under obligation that the President’s pronouncement becomes a reality as a vision bearer. The procurement of arm chairs is for Public schools throughout the country is to have comfortable and suitable seating capacity for conducive learning environment.

In his concluding statement, the Minister stressed that those chairs should be maintained and managed properly by school administrators and Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) as well as all education stakeholders to avoid the shortage of chairs due to damage in our Public schools. This initiative should be embraced by community dwellers as well as the student bodies. The balance number of arm chairs will soon be delivered to the Ministry as soon as finalization of the procurement processes has been completed.
