Minister Findley Presents GOL’s Pro-Poor Agenda at TICAD Summit

-Calls On Development Partners To Invest In Liberia’s Economy

Liberia’s Foreign Minister H. E. Gbehzohngah Milton Findley has told the TICAD Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo that under the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development, enunciated by the Weah-led administration, the ordinary Liberian people will be given the chance to participate and benefit from Liberia’s development initiates.

Speaking recently at the 2nd Plenary Session of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development, (TICAD), Foreign Minister Findley reiterated that Liberia’s “Pro-Poor Agenda” for Prosperity and Development is a five-year program designed basically to accelerate inclusive and sustainable developmental agenda geared towards improving the living standards of Liberians.

Foreign Minister Findley, who headed the Liberian Delegation at this year’s TICAD Ministerial Conference, told participants that one of Liberia’s key objectives currently is to attract direct foreign investment using the private sector as a driver with the aim of adding values to the country’s raw material geared towards creating jobs, alleviating poverty and enhancing economic growth and development in the country.

Honorable Findley called on African government represented at the forum to engage and focus on sustainable development initiatives that would improve the living conditions of Africans, if the continent is to progress. He then emphasized “Africa must have sustainable economic growth and development in order to improve the living standard of its population”.

TICAD is a regular Conference that seeks to discuss Japan-Africa Developmental agenda with the sole objective of promoting high-level policy dialogue between African leaders and development partners in Asia.

Minister Gbehzohngar Findley, on behalf of President George Manneh Weah, extended profound gratitude and appreciation to the Government of Japan and development partners for the excellent bilateral relationship and cooperation as well as the organization of this year’s TICAD Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo, Japan
