KINJOR—As part of the support to the elderly, Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC), presented 450 bags of rice and ninety tins of vegetable oil to the Darblo, Mana and Laar Clans, in Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County. The donation by the Company was made during the weekend at various locations.
This support to the elderly is separate from the Company’s corporate social responsibility program. Aside the US$450,000 (Four hundred and fifty thousand United States dollars) disbursed annually, BMMC is committed to providing monthly support to the vulnerable and elderly in the district.
Making the presentation of the items, the Community Relations Team stated that a total of 450 bags of rice, ninety tin of vegetable oil, and a cash amount of $USD 11,250 were given for the three clans.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Management of Bea Mountain Mining Corporation we bring you season greetings. The donation of these food items and cash is part the Company’s usual support to elders of the three clans. Every three months we give the elders support, so this is the last quarter for 2024”
The Community Relations Team noted that BMMC will continue to work with stakeholders of the county and assured that the Company is committed to working with the affected communities, district and county for peaceful coexistence.
Meanwhile, Elders of the three clans have lauded the Management of BMMC for dedicated service and support to the people.
Augustine G. Momoh, General Town Chief for Macca Ward “We want to say to the Bea Mountain family thank you for the support given to the elders since the MOU was signed in May 2022. The Company is always willing to respond to us whenever we ask them for anything. We pray that they get more gold to be able to benefit us and also benefit the Company” General Town Chief for Macca Ward stated.
For his part, Clan Chief for Mana Clan, Gbendi Boima “I take this time to tell BMMC thank you for always living up to your promise made to us the elders. We hope that this should not be the last, let’s continue to work together for the good of the Company and for the good of the communities”
Also speaking, the General Town Chief for Beh-Gondor Zone Thomas Falajuah extended thanks and appreciation to the Management of Bea Mountain for the unflinching support to elders of the three clans.
