Nimba County, January 18, 2025: ” MDR National Chairman Reaffirms Commitment To Alliance With Boakai-Koung Rescue Mission Government”… The National Chairman of the Collaborating Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) Party and Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr. has reaffirmed the commitment of the party to its current alliance with the Government of President Joseph Nyumah and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
The MDR was established by Nimba County legionary Senator Prince Yornie Johnson who passed away recently and was interred in his native city of Ganta, Nimba County over the weekend after a colourful funeral ceremony. A release issued from Ganta quotes The MDR National Chairman Kruah as expressing the party’s official position in recommitting its alliance with the Unity Party-led Rescue Mission Government, something which he described as ‘ the life dream and legacy of late Senator Johnson’.
Chairman Kruah emphasized in the party’s special tribute at the funeral of the late Founding Leader, Senator Johnson that although there are some MDR party cadets who may have divergent views on this matter, the official position of the party has been made public and being demonstrated in concrete terms through the level of cordial interactions between the two parties on several crucial national issues, for the greater benefit of the Liberian people and specifically, citizens of Nimba County, the birthplace of the Party’s late Founding Leader and several other officials.
Meanwhile, MDR National Chairman Kruah has declared that the party will remain ‘a formidable political force’, even after the unfortunate demise of late Senator Johnson, but that it will not deviate from its constructive engagement policy in addressing national issues.\
