Mayor Koijee Escapes Death

-Following Terrible Car Accident

Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee was Saturday June 16, 2018 saved by God almighty as he narrowly survived a terrible car accident on the Monrovia-Gbarnga highway while enroute to participate in this year’s celebration of the ‘Day of the African Child’ in Gbarnga, Bong County.

According to report, Mayor Koijee official vehicle (MCC-1) early Saturday morning ran into a commercial vehicle (taxi). It is alleged that the young Mayor vehicle was speeding, a report earlier denied by some close associates.
Sources close to Mayor Koijee also said he sustained minor injury and he was immediately taken to Gbarnga, Bong County for medical attention. The sources further said the Mayor’s vehicle damaged beyond repair.

It was also reported that passengers on board the commercial vehicle (taxi) also sustained minor injuries and were taken to a clinic in Totota, Bong County for treatment.
According to the report, Mayor Koijee was travelling with some officials of government and members of the Youth League of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
The Monrovia City Mayor is currently the Youth League Chairman of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
It can be recalled Cyril Allen, Jr. former deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry died in a car accident on the Roberts International Airport (RIA) highway during the administration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Former Public Works Minister, William Gyude Moore was hit by a speeding vehicle on the Tubman boulevard while jogging in the morning. He later recovered from the accident.
