Lofa County University Association (LCUSA) at the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU) is Commanding Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee for his valuable achievement as Liberian Government official.
LCUSA President, Mr. Jamuel J. Kullie told this paper in an interview Thursday, March 17, 2022 that, Mayor Koijee who hails from Lofa County has made people of the County very proud because of his remarkable achievement since he was appointed as Monrovia City Mayor in March 2018.
According to him, prior to Mayor Koijee’s appointment, he served as National Youth Chairman for the Revolutionary National Youth League of Liberia’s ruling party, the Coalition for Democratic Change, where he worked as the leader of over one million young Liberians.
He furthers that, from 2008 to 2010, Koijee worked for the Federation of Liberian Youth, the umbrella organization for all youth groupings in Liberia, as the Montserrado County and also he is one of the founding organizers of the National High School Student Union of Liberia (NIHISUL) and served as its’ first president.
Kullie said that Koijee, besides being a candidate for a BBA degree in Management, at the Stella Maris Polytechnic, he is also a candidate for a BPA degree in Public Administration, University of Liberia.
He recalled that in 2017, Koijee received a Certificate of Achievement from the International Visitor Leadership Program, United States Department of State, based in Washington D.C., USA.
According to him, currently, he is the president of the Association of Mayors of Local Government Authorities of Liberia (AMLOGAL), an associate organization of the Untied Cities and Local Government Authorities (UCLG) of Africa, and the Global Covenant of Mayors.
Mayor Koijee is presently serving his second term as an Executive Member of the Global Parliament of Mayors. This tenure runs for three years.
