Monrovia– A tragic motor accident along the Monrovia-Buchanan Highway on Sunday evening reportedly claimed the lives of several Liberians, especially family members mostly of Grand BassaCounty.
Following the accident, the President Pro-tempore of the Liberian Senate who is also Senator of Grand Bassa NyonbleeKarnga-Lawrence as leader of the county and the country, did not hold back to pay a visit to the home of the bereaved families who were involved in the tragic motor accident on March 9, 2025, at Boys Town Junction along the Roberts International Airport highway in Margibi County.
During her March 10, 2025 visit, the President Pro-Temporecould not hold back her sadness when she performed the culture by sitting with the bereaved family in tears. She extended her deepest sympathy to the heartbroken families.
According to information gathered, four people including two males, two females, and a baby were onboard a yellow taxi cab when they ran under a truck.
The information further revealed that a baby was rescued about thirty minutes following the accident, while the other victims were rescued with the help of a crane truck almost 45 minutes after the baby was rescued.
Residents of the communities, including onlookers and the 14 Military Hospital provided their ambulance services to rescue and transport the accident victims to the hospital.
According to some media outlets, a lady only identified as Ruth reportedly died, along with two of her kids while the driver of the taxi who is well-known as Small Driver and others also died in the accident.
Meanwhile, the Liberia National Police are investigating to determine the exact cause of the incident while the truck drivers is said to be in police custody for protection.
