Monrovia-Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin is calling for reconciliation amongst citizens of Grand Bassa.
Minister Nyumalin challenged the Legislative Caucus of Grand Bassa to lead the process of reconciliation in the County. The Internal Affairs Minister appealed to the two Senators of Grand Bassa, Gbezongar Finley and Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence to forget their differences and reconcile the people of Grand Bassa County.
Monrovia– Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin is calling for reconciliation amongst citizens of Grand Bassa.
Minister Nyumalin challenged the Legislative Caucus of Grand Bassa to lead the process of reconciliation in the County. The Internal Affairs Minister appealed to the two Senators of Grand Bassa, Gbezongar Finley and Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence to forget their differences and reconcile the people of Grand Bassa County.
In such spirit of reconciliation Min. Nyumalin named Senator Gbezongar Finley as “Adam” and Senate Pro Tempore, Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence as “Eve.” Both Senators accepted the names and promised to work along with the people of Grand Bassa in reconciling them. The two lawmakers gave a friendly hug as a sign of reconciling their differences.
In a related development, Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin has called on the newly inducted Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Karyou Johnson to work along with the Legislative Caucus and the County Council in implementing all projects.
Minister Nyumalin spoke over the weekend when he inducted the newly appointed Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Karyou Johnson.
Min. Francis Nyumalin also revealed to the people of Grand Bassa County on the agreement that the leadership of the county and the Internal Affairs Ministry have reached on the disposal of the tilling Iron Ore deposited at the Port of Buchana by LAMCO Company.
He told the gathering in Grand Bassa that a company has been selected and the company had committed itself in building a steel factory in Grand Bassa. According to the Internal Affairs Minister, the company would buy iron from MittalSteel to do a finished product instead of exporting the entire dirt on the iron ore.
Minister Nyumalin said as part of the company’s commitment, it has already deposited the amount of US$400,000.00 in the Grand Bassa County account.
The Internal Affairs Minister said the money in question is for the development of Grand Bassa County.
In response, the newly inducted Superintendent, KaryouJohnson promised to work along with the Grand BassaLegislative Caucus and the County Council in implementing every projects in the County.
The Superintendent told the gathering that transparency and accountability are very key to his administration. He promised to account for every money given to him for the people of Grand Bassa County.
