Monrovia-The Liberia National Police (LNP) has categorically denounced what they called fraudulent and deceptive statements circulating on social media, falsely attributed to the LNP and its spokesperson, DCP Cecelia G. Clarke.
According to a release from the LNP, it says that the statement is entirely false and does not represent the official stance or operations of the Liberia National Police.
“We urge the public to DISREGARD THIS FABRICATED MESSAGE, which is designed to spread misinformation and cause unnecessary alarm” Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cecelia G. Clarke said in a statement released earlier Monday morning in Monrovia.
According to her, the LNP remains fully committed to upholding law and order while respecting the constitutional rights and freedoms of all citizens stating that any official statements from the LNP will ONLY be issued through their verified communication channels.
“We take this matter seriously and will pursue appropriate action against individuals responsible for spreading such falsehoods. The public is strongly advised to rely on official sources for accurate and trustworthy information regarding police directives” she concluded.
