The project accordingly promises to unlock new opportunities for local governance and financial growth, fostering a more equitable distribution of resources between the national government and county authorities.

The first phase of the discussion was held at the weekend in the conference room of the, and graced by a diverse group of stakeholders including Assistant Commissioner for Real Estate James Jaber, Montserrado County Superintendent WhrowayBryant, and the Mayors of Monrovia and Paynesville, John Siafaand Robert Bestman.

The discussion signaled the beginning of an important collaboration aimed at enhancing revenue-sharing practices across the region.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is expected soon, formally marking the launch of the project. This expansion follows in the successful footsteps of similar initiatives in Margibi and Grand Bassa counties, where revenue sharing has already led to tangible improvements in local services and infrastructure.

With the backing of key local officials and technical experts, Montserrado County stands to benefit from a more streamlined, efficient system that will support both urban and rural development.

At its core, the project aligns with the Local Government Act, which mandates the fair distribution of real property revenues between the central government and county authorities.

As these initial discussions take shape, there’s a palpable sense of anticipation for what’s to come—new revenue streams for Montserrado, stronger local governance, and a more sustainable future for all its residents.
