Liberian News: Govt’s Commitment To Justice And National Development Uncompromising

Monrovia– Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism has accentuated the government’s firm commitment to justice and national development as hallmarks of its agenda.

At MICAT’s regular press briefing Tuesday, Minister Piahconveyed President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s resolute stance on justice, governance, and national development.

“The Liberian people deserve answers,” Min. Piah began, recalling president Boakai’s Cabinet Meeting remonstrance.

“No case will be ignored, and no crime will go unpunished. President Boakai has ordered a full-scale investigation into all unresolved cases of mysterious deaths, including the disappearance of missing boys and the deaths of auditors. Justice must prevail.”

The room was silent as journalists absorbed the gravity of his words. For years, families had waited for justice, and now, under the Boakai administration, their calls are finally being heard.

Quoting the President, Minister Piah further announced that law enforcement agencies had been directed to fast-track all investigations.

“This administration will not tolerate impunity,” Hon. Piahdeclared. “Those responsible will be held accountable, regardless of their status.”

Hon. Piah reiterated the President’s strong message to his Cabinet that if anyone’s focus is on 2029, he should resignbecause his priority is serving the Liberian people right now.

Also quoting President Boakai, he disclosed that accountability & governance investigations into pending corruption cases will be concluded with full transparency, and those responsible will face justice.

“These directives are not mere suggestions,” Hon. Piahemphasized. “They are mandates that must be executed without delay.”

Piah called on all stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, government institutions, civil society, and the general public to support the government’s efforts, stressing “This is not just about the government; it is about the future of Liberia. Justice, accountability, and national development require the collective commitment of every Liberian.”
