Liberia-Nimba County District #7 Representative, Musa Bility, has disclosed that the lawmakers who fully support Speaker Fonati Koffa will not sacrifice the integrity of their laws or set the stage for further conflict in the future.

According to him, their colleagues who are seeking the removal of the House Speaker need to know that such issue extends beyond Speaker Koffa, stressing that it directly impacts the stability of their democratic institution.

He said the minority who are currently in session voted to invoke Article 33 of the Liberian Constitution stressing that only that body can withdraw that decision while in session.

On his social media page, the Nimba County lawmaker and former National Chairman of the Liberty Party who was in conflict with officials of the LP since the 2023 elections that prompted his resignation, said no such withdrawal has occurred.

“We are actively pursuing multiple avenues to resolve the impasse in the house amicably, “he said.

Representative Bility said their demand for legal interpretation of their laws in light of attempts to bypass it will not be compromised for political gain. Bility is one of the lawmakers who are calling for the auditing of the House of Representatives of which Speaker Koffa is now working toward achieving such a request.
